“intermissionlude” - (,in(t)ərˈmiSH(ə)n,lood) noun. a convergence between music and film, used to describe films that have little to no plot, characters, or dialogue, but highlight pre-existing music as it’s soundtrack in a playlist/mixtape style.
example: “that film was less of a musical and more of an intermissionlude.”
biography: alex o. martinez was born in austin, texas on august 10th, 2002. from a young age he expressed interest in films and art and went to mccallum fine arts academy for high school. there, he got accepted into sxsw twice for two short films, but proceeded to fail his film studies course. after graduating high school, he went on to work as a production assistant on a few major motion pictures (imdb listed here). then, in the summer of 2024 released his first “intermissionlude” feature film: “the life and death of orson greer.” currently, he is living in west orange, new jersey, as he continues work on future projects and enjoys nyc on the weekends.

“mennonite nites” (2022) - currently unreleased. a road trip shared between mother and son from north carolina to lancaster county, pennsylvania. runtime 22 minutes
“pneumothorax” (2023) - hospital footage of the time alex’s lung spontaneously collapsed. runtime 5 minutes.
“the life and death of orson greer” (2024) - the life and times of the great american author. dedicated to his family and his lover anna st. clair. runtime 77 minutes.
